Congratulation, you’re now a Rasta

IS THIS LEGAL

YES… Sacramental use of Cannabis in celebration of the Rastafari faith became legal in Jamaica on April 15, 2015.Governor General Sir Patrick Allen,The Governor General of Jamaica has given Royal assent to the Bill amending the Dangerous Drugs Act for Rastas.

WHAT does that mean in Canada ….. Jamaica and Canada are both Commonwealth Countries & the CANADIAN CHARTER OF RIGHTS AND FREEDOMS is founded upon principles that recognize the supremacy of God and the rule of law:Everyone has the following fundamental freedoms: (A) FREEDOM OF CONSCIENCE AND RELIGION;

WHAT IS RASTA

Rasta in the strictest sense of the word, follows a code of discipline that cultivates love for life and nature in all it’s untouched forms.

RASTAFARIAN BELIEF

Commonly referred to as herb, weed, kaya, sinsemilla (Spanish for “without seeds”), or ganja (from the Sanskrit word ganjika, used in ancient Nepal and India), is a spiritual act, often accompanied by Bible study; Rasta’s consider it a sacrament that cleans the body and mind, heals the soul, exalts the consciousness, facilitates peacefulness, brings pleasure, and brings them closer to Jah (God).

SACRAMENT VS RECREATIONAL

Rasta use of ganja can’t be compared with its recreational uses elsewhere in the West. Rastafarians emphasize harmony with the world and nature, and ganja is used in the context of the Rastas’ “I-tal” diet, which involves not just being a vegetarian, but eating foods free of salts, preservatives, condiments, avoiding coffee, alcohol, or other drugs, and living off the land whenever possible.

OUR MOTTO

Let your food be your medicine and your medicine be your food. Ital is vital….

It would appear to some, that ital is a general term for Rastafarian vegetarian food, but in reality, ital is Rastas unique way of preparing their cuisine. It’s their roots gourmet to be exact, and a sacrament for the temple, the word used by Rastafarians to refer to the body.

UNDERSTANDING YOUR WEED

How does the AA-AAAA Rating work?

If you’re new to the world of Cannabis you might be asking yourself what the significance of ‘ AAAA ‘ is and why the prices are so high with strains claiming this rank. AAAA is the highest ranked strains of Cannabis currently trumping the long reign of the AAA strains recently. The A-AAAA Cannabis ranking system helps ensure that people understand what grade of quality the strain they are ordering.

What is the Difference between a Sativa and Indica

Medicinal ganja can be used to treat a wide variety of common conditions. Generally, medicinal ganja results in the user having a sense of greater physical and mental relaxation, pain reduction, increased appetite, and better sleep. However, there are two main varieties of medicinal ganja plants, and each offers a different set of benefits. Understanding the difference between the two is important to finding the right strain for each patient.

The two major types of ganja plants are Indica and Sativa.

Each strain has it’s own range of effects on the body and mind resulting in a wide range of medicinal benefits. Indica strains generally provide a sense of deep body relaxation.

Sativa strains tend to provide a more energizing experience. Typically, ganja Indica plants are short, bushy plants with wide leaves.

Indica plants typically grow faster and have a higher yield than the sativa variety. Medicine produced from ganja Indica plants have higher CBD and lower THC counts.

Cannabis strains range from pure Sativa to pure Indica and hybrid strains consisting of both Indica and Sativa (30% Indica – 70% Sativa, 50% – 50% combinations, 80% Indica – 20% Sativa).

The major qualities of Indica medicinal strains include
  • increased mental relaxation
  • muscle relaxation
  • decreases nausea
  • decreases acute pain
  • increases appetite
  • increases dopamine (a neurotransmitter that helps control the brain’s reward and pleasure centers)
  • for night time use
The major qualities of Sativa medicinal strains include

Cannabis Sativa plants are oppposite of the Indica strains and grow tall and thin with narrow leaves. Sativa plants are also generally a lighter shade of green then their counterpart, the Indica strain. Sativa strains take longer to grow, mature, and require more light. Medicine produced from ganja Sativa plants have lower CBD and higher THC counts.

  • anti-anxiety
  • anti-depressant
  • treats chronic pain
  • increases focus and creativity
  • increases serotonin (a neurotransmitter involved in the regulation of learning, mood, sleep, anxiety and appetite)
  • for day time use
